What makes that scene even odder was that Rarity was just standing there with the rest of them mere seconds earlier, and Pinkie didn't even touch her before running off-screen to grab her cannon. Maybe Rarity was practicing her teleportation, and figured it'd be a good way to surprise Spike?

The answer to Rarity being mysteriously sucked into the cannon is that the animators forgot about rarity's section.
